- Important Notice
Passengers, their luggage, effects and vehicles are carried by Swansea Cork Ferries Limited (“Swansea Cork Ferries”) subject to current “Conditions of Carriage of Passengers and Luggage (including vehicles)” which are set out in this brochure. These contain exclusions of and restrictions on the liability of Swansea Cork Ferries for death, illness or injury and for damage to or loss of vehicles and/or luggage and for delay or deviation. Passengers should also note that there may be exclusions and restrictions on the liability of the performing carrier under its domestic law.
Passengers are also advised that the provisions of the Convention relating to the Carriage of Passengers and their Luggage by Sea 1974 (“The Athens Convention”) may be applicable. The Athens Convention in most cases limits a carrier’s liability for death or personal injury or loss of or damage to Luggage (including vehicles) and makes special provision for valuables.
The Athens Convention presumes that Luggage has been delivered undamaged unless written notice is given to the carrier.- In the case of apparent damage, before or at the time of disembarkation or re-delivery, or
- In the case of damage which is not apparent or of loss, within 15 days from the date of disembarkation or re-delivery or from the time when such re-delivery should have taken place.
- All bookings are made on the terms and conditions set out.
- Deposit and Payment
- All Car Ferry Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of £40 to be paid within seven days of reservation. Swansea Cork Ferries will send written confirmation of the booking. Balance of payment must be paid at least 30 days before the advertised sailing date. Car and Passenger ferry bookings made within 30 days of the advertised sailing date must be paid in full at the time of making the reservation. Please note All booking made Via the Web need to paid for at time of booking.
- It is important that all special requests are made to Swansea Cork Ferries at the time of the booking. Swansea Cork Ferries will not be held liable for any failure to comply with special requests made. Additional charges for these requests may be made which should either be paid to Swansea Cork Ferries or to the accommodation booked, details of which will be notified with the reservation notice.
- All Inclusive Holiday Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of £40 per person (excluding infants 0-2 yrs). All personal insurance premiums must be paid in full with holiday deposit.
- A completed signed booking form must accompany all holiday reservation requests. It is important to note that the person who signs the booking form and in whose name reservation requests are made is responsible on behalf of everyone included within the reservation or booking.
Accommodation reserved within inclusive holidays booked can only be occupied by persons included on the holiday booking form. - On receipt of the completed holiday booking form Swansea Cork Ferries will issue a Reservation Notice confirming all details of the holiday requested. The Reservation Notice will inform you of the balance to be paid 56 days (8 weeks) before departure.
It is important to note that if the information within the Reservation Notice issued is not correct that you will have 5 working days from the date of the Reservation Notice issued to notify Swansea Cork Ferries of the incorrect details, after which the holiday reservation will be deemed confirmed. - For any holiday requests made within 7 days of the date of departure a booking will be considered confirmed either (a) 24 hours after the receipt of the Reservation Notice or (b) arrival at the port on the date of departure whichever is the earlier.
- Swansea Cork Ferries reserves the right to cancel a reservation if payment is not received 56 days (8 weeks) prior to departure. For late bookings full payment must be made either with the booking form or by way of credit card.
- Payment can be made by cash, major credit card or personal cheque supported by a valid cheque guarantee card. Cheques to be made payable to Swansea Cork Ferries.
- Fares
- The fares quoted in this brochure are current and as of the 1st November, 2004, no surcharges whatsoever are payable. However Swansea Cork Ferries reserve the right to make a fuel and/or currency surcharge if circumstances so dictate, at their absolute discretion.
- The fares quoted in this brochure are in Stg pounds, the port of departure will determine the currency that is to be charged. Fares are determined and Tickets are issued on the basis of the information declared by the Passenger or travel agent at the time of booking. The right is reserved to collect additional fares prior to embarkation where Passengers hold Tickets at a lower fare or rate than that properly chargeable or for any other under declaration or alteration by the Passenger.
- Inclusive Holiday
- Prices shown within the brochure are current and as of November 1st, 2004.
Whilst Swansea Cork Ferries do not anticipate any alterations to these prices it does reserve the right to allow for an increase any time until 30 days before departure by the client. Reasons for price increase can include increases in the general tax rates, fuel costs, exchange rates, port dues, etc.
In the unlikely event of any such price increases Swansea Cork Ferries will absorb up to 2% of such increases. It is important to note that this absorption of a price increase does not extend to either insurance premiums or amendment charges.
An increase in price will be calculated by reference to the total cost of the variation divided by the number of passengers booked. - If an increase of more than 2% on the price is to be charged it will be possible to cancel the reservation with a full refund of all money paid with the exclusion of any insurance premium or amendment charges.
- Decision to cancel in the event of a price increase must be notified to Swansea Cork Ferries within 10 days from the date of the issue of a revised price invoice.
- Occasionally Swansea Cork Ferries may be forced to make changes to or cancel a holiday reservation. While these changes are unlikely they will be notified either to you directly or through your Travel Agent. In the event of a change which may involve a change of accommodation, a different destination or a delay either in your outward or return dates of 12 hours or more the following choices are available:-
(a) Acceptance of the change of arrangements.
(b) Accept the accommodation as specified with a price adjustment if the accommodation or other arrangements are at a lower cost.
(c) Cancellation of the reservation.
In the event that you accept the change of arrangements Swansea Cork Ferries will pay compensation as scheduled below.
In the event of a complete cancellation Swansea Cork Ferries will refund all monies paid together with compensation as scheduled below.

Important – Please Note

- Alterations and Amendments
Sometimes sailing timings may change, or a hotel/self catering may experience local difficulties which may necessitate an alteration to hotel/self catering and in these and other circumstances Swansea Cork Ferries reserve the right to change, vary, alter or cancel a holiday booked or any part of it. However, if Swansea Cork Ferries shall cancel the holiday for any reason except Force Majeure* (as defined below), you will be advised of such a decision at the earliest possible opportunity. Swansea Cork Ferries will offer you an alternative comparable holiday of a similar standard or a full refund of all monies paid. Unless you notify us or your Travel Agent of your acceptance of this alternative holiday offered, within seven days of such offer, Swansea Cork Ferries will be entitled to assume that you have chosen a refund.
If Swansea Cork Ferries is unable to comply with the request by the customer for an alteration to a booking and the customer does not wish to proceed with the original booking the customer shall be deemed to have given notice of a cancellation on the date upon which the written request was received by Swansea Cork Ferries and a cancellation charge shall become due in accordance with paragraph 6 of these conditions.
It is important to note that a change of departure date or accommodation may be treated as a cancellation and subject to a cancellation fee, details of which are scheduled in paragraph 6. Any unused parts of the holiday package, including unused accommodation vouchers, will not be subject to reimbursement.
*Force Majeure means war, threat of war, civil state riots, terrorist activities, natural disasters or
other Acts of God, strikes or other industrial action, fire, accident, failure, or damage to machinery, closure of airports, or ports, breach of contract by a third party and similar events beyond our control. - Tickets and Accommodation Vouchers
Ferry tickets and accommodation vouchers are valid for the time and dates shown only. If for any reason the information contained on the ferry ticket or accommodation voucher(s) is incorrect Swansea Cork Ferries should be notified immediately. - Cancellation of Reservation or Inclusive Holiday by Client
- If passengers wish to cancel either a car ferry or holiday reservation then immediate notice must be given to Swansea Cork Ferries Reservations Office by telephoning Swansea 01792-456116 or Cork 00 353 21-4271166, followed by confirmation in writing within 5 days. All passenger names should be provided at time of booking. UK: Swansea Cork Ferries, Ferry Port, Kings Dock, Swansea, SA1 1SF.
Ireland: Swansea Cork Ferries, 52 South Mall, Cork, Ireland.
The cancellation of an Inclusive Holiday can only be accepted when received in writing by the person who signed the booking form or from the travel agent through whom the booking was made. - In the event of a cancellation the deposit paid will be retained by Swansea Cork Ferries.
- In the event of car or passenger booking cancellation within 30 days of the advertised sailing date the Passenger will be liable to a cancellation fee in accordance with the following scale :
15-29 days
8-14 days
0-7 days- 50% of the fare
- 75% of the fare
- 100% of the fare
In the event of an Inclusive Holiday cancellation the following penalties apply. More than 8 weeks before departure deposit forfeited. If less than 8 weeks, the following applies.

- 100% of cost forfeited - Swansea Cork Ferries strongly recommend you take out a Personal Insurance which may cover you in the event of a cancellation. Full details of Insurance are contained on page 6 of this brochure.
- In the event of cancellation on or after the advertised sailing date a cancellation fee of 100% of the fare will be charged.
- In the event of a Passenger cancelling the return portion of a ferry ticket, no refund will be given. Swansea Cork Ferries may issue a Passenger with a credit voucher for that value entitling the Passenger to future travel, on terms at the Company’s absolute discretion (excluding Special Offers).
- If the booking party are prevented from proceeding it is possible to transfer the reservation to any other party provided that Swansea Cork Ferries are given reasonable advance notice prior to the departure date and no other changes within the reservation made are required. It is important to note that Insurance booked is non-transferable.
- If passengers wish to cancel either a car ferry or holiday reservation then immediate notice must be given to Swansea Cork Ferries Reservations Office by telephoning Swansea 01792-456116 or Cork 00 353 21-4271166, followed by confirmation in writing within 5 days. All passenger names should be provided at time of booking. UK: Swansea Cork Ferries, Ferry Port, Kings Dock, Swansea, SA1 1SF.
- Cancellation or Delay of Service
Where Swansea Cork Ferries cancel or delay sailings for any reason whatsoever, the ferry company will not be held responsible for the provision of accommodation or meals etc., or any additional costs arising to the passenger as a result of such cancellation or delay. - Late Bookings
If you are booking at short notice all bookings will be subject to availability and payment must be made in full. Ferry only tickets may be purchased at the port. Passengers are advised to check in advance with the Reservations Office at Swansea 01792-456116. - Refunds
All refund claims must be made in writing to Swansea Cork Ferries not later than two months following the intended date of travel. All claims must be accompanied by the unused Tickets. - Lost or Stolen Tickets and accommodation Vouchers
Swansea Cork Ferries cannot undertake to replace or refund Tickets or Accommodation Vouchers which are stolen, lost or destroyed. Insurance particularly against theft is recommended. - Check in Before Departure
All Passengers and vehicles must check-in at the port at least two hours in Swansea and one hour in Cork before the advertised time of departure. Failure to check-in within this time may result in Passengers losing their reservation, which may be resold. If space is available, Passengers and vehicles may be carried on a later service. - Carriage of Freight, Commercial Vehicles and Goods
The carriage of freight, commercial vehicles and commercial goods and samples is subject to the Swansea Cork Ferries Conditions of Carriage of Freight, Commercial Vehicles and Goods. - Responsibility of Swansea Cork Ferries
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this brochure, Swansea Cork Ferries can accept no responsibility for any errors or omissions contained herein. - Delayed Sailings
Swansea Cork Ferries services normally arrive and depart at the advertised times. Occasionally sailings can be delayed due to mechanical breakdowns, bad weather, closures or delays at port. Swansea Cork Ferries strongly advises that Vehicle and Travel Insurance be taken out to cover delays, cancellation or vehicle breakdown. - Accommodation
All accommodation and other services in Ireland provided as part of Swansea Cork Ferries inclusive holidays have been inspected and approved by the Irish Tourist Board. The classification of accommodation shown in Swansea Cork Ferries brochure is in accordance with the grades allocated by the Irish Tourist Board. - Inclusive Holidays
BASIC PRICE INCLUDES- Return ferry crossing Swansea-Cork (Ringaskiddy) for one car plus stated accommodation numbers.
- One week self catering accommodation, Saturday to Saturday.
- Accommodation commencement date determines price paid.Notes
- Price of extra week is determined by the date band in which the extra week falls.
- Bed linen is provided in most of the featured self catering centres. Those not providing linen will be indicated at time of booking.
- No pets allowed.
- Personal Insurance will be added to your booking unless otherwise requested.
- On board accommodation not included.
- Accommodation check-in from 4.00pm onwards on Saturdays.
- Complaints
In the unlikely event of there being something not to your satisfaction whilst you are on holiday that comes within our direct control, you must report it on the spot. If the complaint is not promptly resolved to the customers satisfaction, he should immediately report the complaint in writing to the party providing the service and keep a copy. Unless this procedure is followed Swansea Cork Ferries shall be under no liability whatsoever in respect of matters giving rise to the complaint. If you feel the matter has not been satisfactorily resolved you should, within 28 days of your return home, notify us in writing of your complaint. Please note that we will not entertain any claim which has not been notified to us in writing within 28 days of your return home. If your complaint cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be referred to arbitration with the arbitrator to be agreed by both parties. - The company does not have representatives in the various locations where Swansea Cork Ferries inclusive holidays are based. In the event of any difficulty or problem arising during a holiday, the customer should in the first instance seek assistance from the party by whom the accommodation is provided (whose name, address and telephone number are as set out on the holiday information sheet accompanying the Company’s written confirmation on booking). If the difficulty or problem cannot be resolved locally, the customer should contact Swansea Cork Ferries by telephoning during normal business hours on 021-4271166 (Cork).
